You have three chances to win one of these new rubber stamp sets in our February New Reveal Contest and four more chances with the SNS Creative Challenge where the monthly theme is always "Anything Goes with Loose Glitter, Embossing Powder and/or Flocking."  The Mermaid Kisses  stamp set is available on line or is included in Jazzy Jill's Technique Video for the month.  Each of the three stamp sets are available in the SNS Shoppe at 20% off until February 3.  The Three Winners (one for each new stamp set) will be selected by Random.org during the Designers Mystery Party.  Winners will also be able to choose one glitter and one Embossing Powder to go with their new stamp set.

How the Mystery Party works:

On Three of the participating blogs below, a Commenter will be selected to receive the prize
No one knows who the three Mystery Designers are, so you may wish to visit each blog to leave a comment.

The winners will be announced on February 3 on Facebook, the SNS blog, and on our blogs.

Now for details about my card.

I choose the Mermaid Kisses stamp set for my project.  I started out by stamping my image twice so I could cut out the Mermaid and pop dot her tail.  The image is colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  I added Bubble Gum glitter to streaks in her hair as well as to the flower centers.  Waterfall glitter was used for the water.

In order to create the background, I started out with a piece of watercolor paper and applied Distress Stains (Salty Ocean, Bundled Sage) to the background, spritzing with a little water as I went along.  Next, I created a mat by using the negative portion of a piece of paper that I die cut a scalloped oval from.  Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Stormy Sky) were then blended into the Distress Stains to create a "frame".  The sun is an MFT die and I heat embossed it with Orange Marmalade embossing powder.  Love that two-tone color.  The waves are from the Big Splash Border die by Memory Box.

The sentiment was heat embossed using Tangy Tangerine embossing powder onto a piece of vellum die cut from a Spellbinders tag die (Ribbon Tag Trio) and I threaded ribbon through it.  The distress glitter technique (add Brushable glue to the edges with a brush or sponge dauber and cover with glitter) was used on the layer behind the focal point and the distressed embossing technique (add VersaMark to the edges with a sponge dauber, cover with embossing powder and heat set) was used around the card base.  I also adhered some 1/2" Tear-ific tape behind the sentiment and covered it with Waterfall glitter.  You can check out my SNS Art Gallery page for more details.

Awesome. I had enjoyed Donna's pretty mermaid earlier today, and this evening had a chance to enjoy your version with the more vivid coloring! I loved the way you colored the mermaid, and very interesting reading as to how you created that awesome background. Great use of the MB die as well, and super use of the negative diecut. TFS such an outstandingly beautiful card, with some marvelous glitter colors. Hugs
